What You Will Learn
- Week 1 – Tooling Setup and React Fundamentals
In our first week we get familiar with the basic tooling setup we will need for working with React, plus dive into core fundamentals of creating elements and components. - Week 2 – JSX and Props
This week we learn about using JSX in our React code and how to pass data through a React application using Props. - Week 3 – State Management
In week three we turn our attention towards the various ways we can manage state in a React application. - Week 4 – Lifecycle Hooks
This week we focus on how to interact with the component lifecycle hooks that exist in React. - Week 5 – The React Ecosystem
In week five we learn about a variety of other libraries developers commonly leverage alongside React. - Week 6 – Final Project
Our final week is dedicated to building a final project that implements the skills covered in the Bootcamp.
Bootcamp Format
This is a six week program where we meet online via Slack and Zoom. Each week, video and/or text based resources are provided along with practice exercises.
Our weekly schedule follows this format:
- Mondays – Check-in via Slack
- Tuesdays – 1 hr live lecture via Zoom
- Thursdays – 1 hr discussion groups via Zoom
- Fridays – Check-in via Slack
All lectures and discussion groups are recorded and made available to keep for playback later. You can attend either 11am or 6pm time slots based on your schedules.
The final week is dedicated to building, code reviewing and presenting your final projects.

What Are The Prerequisites?
No knowledge of JavaScript or coding is necessary for this Bootcamp. However a basic background with HTML and CSS is recommended.
How Much Time Will This Take Each Week?
A minimum of ten hours is recommended to dedicate each week to the Bootcamp. You can get by with less, although many students put in more than ten hours studying and practicing with the exercises.
What Time Are the Lectures and Discussions?
Each lecture and discussion group is available at 11am and 6pm EDT/EST. Students can choose the best time based on their schedule and alternative between times. All lectures and discussions are recorded and made available for you to keep.
What Happens If I Miss a Lecture or Discussion
All lectures and discussions are recorded and made available for playback. Attendance of all sessions is not required, although attendance of one lecture and one discussion group is recommended.

Is There a Payment Plan Option?
Yes! The payment plan involves 1/2 to reserve your seat, 1/4 at the start of the Bootcamp and a final 1/4 due at the end of the Bootcamp.
Will This Get Me a Job?
Applying for jobs requires a combination of hard skills and soft skills. In this Bootcamp we will focus on the hard skills you need to work as a junior front end developer using JavaScript. Due to the short length of the Bootcamp, it may require some additional time or more advanced Bootcamps to be fully ready to work as a front end JavaScript developer. However, this Bootcamp will get you set with a solid foundation.
